We’re back again for another edition of our Chip Shots column and this one is an exciting one!
As some of you may know, back in the old days when bread was 54 cents a loaf, the internet was a distant thought, and cell phones didn’t even exist, we would send out a monthly publication to our customers via snail mail. This newsletter, Chip Shots, would feature columns written by various departments in CBT about the happenings around the office, the latest industry trends, and features highlighting new products and promotions. The newsletter was a great way for us to keep our partners in the loop about what was happening at CBT and what they could expect from us in the future. I found a few of these old publications on a shelf collecting dust. I spent an afternoon reading them and reflecting on how much the world, and the business, have changed throughout the years.
CBT definitely isn’t the same company we were when we started sending these publications to our customers, and that’s a good thing! We have always put our customers first and evolved as a business to meet their ever-changing needs, which has drastically changed how we do business. We began as a small belt shop and our business has evolved to offer you a full line of industrial products and services. We’ve vastly expanded our automation products and services to stay at the forefront of ever-changing technology. We added electrical supplies when you needed the coordinating components for your automation equipment. We have and will continue to work hard to ensure our team is the most knowledgeable in the region regarding motors, bearings, and gearboxes. We listened when you said pneumatics was an integral part of your manufacturing plant. We hired industry experts to expand our belt shop to be your one-stop-shop for unparalleled products, services, and installation. We’ve heard throughout the years that you want us to develop with the times but stay true to our homegrown roots and we’ve done just that. Over the past four decades we have outgrown our locations downtown on the corner of 2nd and Elm, and the old Hudepohl building on the corner of 6th and Gest, and our first office in Dayton on Troy Street. We have expanded from five employees to over 230; hiring specialized engineers to support your continually evolving business endeavors, but our roots always bring us back to the CBT of 1975.
We want you to have a piece of CBT with you at the office. We want to bring news directly to your desks and plant floors, so we’re bringing back our mailed newsletter, only this time as a magazine! This is going to be a great undertaking for our Marketing department, yet it’s something I know they will be extremely successful in launching. However, we need your help! What do you want to see in our upcoming magazine? What information do you need that you can’t seem to find anywhere else? In what area do we need to step it up? Don’t be afraid to hurt my feelings. I’ve always told myself that with failure comes growth and we can’t continue to be your best business partner if we aren’t growing right along with you.
The first edition of our CBT Magazine will be hot off the printing press in August of 2019! In order for this to be successful, we really need to hear from you about the topics you’re interested in. If you help us out and share your thoughts, you will be entered in a drawing to win two tickets to an FC Cincinnati game! Now that’s a deal you shouldn’t miss out on! Submit your ideas to email@example.com to be eligible to win.
